Why you need to visit?

Sure, there are dozens of alpine resorts in both Australia and New Zealand not to mention all over the world. As travellers, we really are spoiled for choice but Cardrona Alpine Resort is adored by visitors for one simple reason- it’ll keep everyone happy. With over 400 hectares of skiable terrain, there are ski slopes to suit all abilities from complete novices to advanced and expert levels.

Beginners will find a dedicated area in the Main Basin to find their feet on the snow and these ski fields are also perfect for families. Cardrona Alpine Resort is also perfect for groups with varying skiing or snowboarding skills because of its terrain parks, half pipes, challenging steeps and Gravity X course. And when hunger strikes in between runs on the slopes there are 8 unique cafes and restaurants to choose from. Our pick is the brand new Vista bar atop of McDougall’s Express Chondola with jaw dropping views of the Wakatipu Basin. Pull up a bean bag, order a drink and people watch from atop of the mountain.
