1. Theme parks

Gold Coast theme parks are by far the most popular attraction that is sought after by local and international visitors. The best thing about the parks is that you can enjoy them in rain or shine. The theme parks have invested a lot of time and money in ensuring that guests can still enjoy the day even when the sun is not shining.

Wet N Wild and White Water World are water parks that are open year round due to our warm tropical climate. The pools and slides are heated in winter for comfort but daytime temperatures are rarely ever below 20 degrees on the Gold Coast. If you are planning to visit a water park then you are going to get wet so don’t let the rain bother you.

Sea World is another great park that is suitable for all ages and weather conditions. There are many animal attractions, aquariums, shows and experiences- most of which are undercover- but bring an umbrella when you are walking around the park.

Movie World and Dreamworld can also be visited in wet weather as they both have large undercover areas to allow visitors to walk around sections of the park without getting wet. The rides at each attraction still operate unless there is heavy rain and there are shows and educational talks to keep you busy and out of the rain throughout the day.

The theme parks now offer multi-park passes that allow you entry into several parks for a week or longer. This is often at the same cost as purchasing a 1 day admission ticket giving locals and visitors a significant saving.
